Ford & Fordson on Film 4 – The Ransomes Connection

The Ford Film Unit co-operated with farm equipment manufacturer Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies to produce several films. ‘Good Ploughing’ is the subject of the first two featuring the trusty Fordson Diesel Major and Ransomes plough. A wonderful film dedicated to the Ransomes 902 Combine Harvester follows, then a peek into the future with the Fordson Dexta in ‘Major gets a Workmate’. Lastly we see a very unusual Diesel Major, this time fitted with an experimental hydrostatic transmission.
