This programme is a unique look at the history of the Fendt tractor from its beginnings in 1928 to the sophisticated machines of the 21st century. Using rare archive film from Fendt dating from the 1930s, which not only shows the tractors at work but also gives a rare glimpse into the actual building of the machines, the history of this German brand is dramatically brought to life.
The early Diselross tractors are shown as they gradually evolved into the more familiar Favorit and Farmer ranges that developed into the comprehensive range of the 1970s and 80s. With many innovations such as front axel suspension, electronic hydraulic control and Turbomatik clutch.
The story also includes the development of the tool carrier concept, a Fendt speciality that finally led to the powerful four wheel drive versions in the 1990s and finally the unique Xylon range.
Fendt publicity films and material from our own archives then tell the modern story of the Fendt tractor and what became the Vario revolutions – the constantly variable transmission system that changed the tractor industry forever!
