Now well past the age of retirement, John Want is still farming in a very rural part of Suffolk. Using Ford and New Holland tractors he manages several hundred acres of arable crops as well as a herd of cattle – and does it all by himself! In this programme we follow John through the farming year as he prepares the soil, plants the crops, feeds and mucks out the cattle and finally harvests the cereal crops in what to John Want is just one year in a whole life on the land!
