A new collection of stories about all
the different jobs farmers use John
Deere tractors and machinery for in
their everyday life. We see John Dan
O’Hare extend his large fleet of
tractors when three new John Deere’s
are delivered to his farm and Ivan
Megaw also extends his fleet with two
new tractors and a new John Deere
mowing machine which were all
delivered by Kenny in his big Volvo
lorry and low loader from Johnston
Gilpin from Lisburn in Co. Antrim.
Then across to Canada to meet up with
the Storey Family. They told us their
story about everyday life on the farm.
We then saw Ivan Megaw’s team at work
at the silage in Co. Armagh with the
two new John Deere a 6210R and a 7280R
along with the new John Deere mowing
machine. These are the latest
extension to the fleet.
We go up to North Eastern Scotland and
meet up with HRN Tractors who showed
us two new John Deere combines a S670i
and a S690i both on tracks that had
just come up from central Scotland.
Leaving Scotland we cross to Canada to
meet up with three generations of the
Martin Family who are putting in the
harvest with two big combines and
taking the big bales in with a lorry
on the hard ground which is due to the
drought.
Now back in Ireland with another John
Deere dealer Michael and Michelle
Hanlon in Dundalk where we see around
their well stocked showroom as they
are getting combines ready for the
Combine for Charity world record
challenge where they need over two
hundred combines working in the one
field in Co. Meath to break the
record.
CRL from Portadown are re-laying a
pitch at the main stadium in Bucharest
with their John Deere tractors that
they brought for finishing of the
Equestion Centre in Greenwich England
for the Olympics. We will then see
them on the next John Deere Vol 8 as
they get the pitches in Rio De Janeiro
in Brazil ready for the Olympics in
2014.
Finally we are back with Ivan Megan at
Terry Milligans in Poynzpass in Co.
Armagh to see Ivan’s team at work with
four combines trying to cut the
harvest in what proved to be a very
bad year of weather in Ireland and
trying to cut between the bad days
which were the worst wet season since
1985.
With the usual mix of commentary,
song, music and fantastic scenery.
