The Farming Year Europe: Farm Machinery through the Seasons, Part 4 Winter

The final season of our trip through
the farming year in Europe comes to an
end as Sascha Jussen films through the
winter of 2015/2016. With lots of
classic and modern tractors at work,
the emphasis turns to planting next
years crops as well as harvesting the
vegetable crops such as cabbages and
brussel sprouts, both by hand and
machine. A true highlight of this
programme is the look inside the
reception area of a sugar beet factory
in Germany, with some real surprises!
As the weather turns from mild to very
cold a lot of farmers are spreading
manure on the fields and then ploughing
reading for spring sown crops and there
is also a lot of green manure chopping
featured plus a look at work on a fruit
farm and also a few dairy holdings.
Bringing the year to a close, this
programme is a fitting end to an epic
year of farm machinery watching in
Europe and also wraps with a look at
what the series has shown us machinery
and farming techniques wise.
