This first volume of The Tractor Story features machines from that magical era the nineteen sixties, seventies and eighties – the True Classics.
The large manufactures from that period such as Ford, Massey Ferguson, John Deere and International Harvester are looked at in great detail while others featured include: Allis-Chapman, Caterpillar, Nuffield, Leyland, Zetor, Fiat, Lamborghini, Track Marshall, Same, Hurlimann, Renault and Mercedes Benz.
Two special features within the programme look at the rise in popularity of four-wheel drive machines such as County, Muir Hill and Roadless. We also meet owners of tractors made by David Brown, highlighting the 990, 885 and 1394, three models that span the three decades covered.
Numerous classic examples have been captured working on the land and Stephen and Jonathan present the programme from Cheffins Tractor and Machinery Saleground at their monthly auction, a venue noted internationally as the place to buy used tractors and the ideal location to study the real TRUE CLASSICS.
