David Lee’s homage to Cornwall’s road haulage industry past & present features over 500 colour photographs of the vehicles of more than 100 of the county’s hauliers – from owner/drivers to large undertakings – operating over the past 35-40 years from the 1970s to today. As well as famous names of the past – including ECC’s Heavy Transport & Western Express Haulage, Suttons Fish, Stevensons, Richards & Osborne, N J Grose, Sid Knowles, Trendale, Bugle Transport and many others plus marques now long gone such as Foden, ERF, Leyland, Seddon Atkinson (a much favoured marque in the county) – the book also features many images of today’s operators – both large and small – and their vehicles that support the county’s current day commerce be it agriculture & livestock movement, aggregate industries, readymix and block operations or general and heavy haulage. All the photographs – presented in four sections: West, Mid, North and East Cornwall – are supported by informative captioning. This limited edition book featuring 240 pages, 500+ colour photographs.
