This programme starts with the landing of two Scammell Contractors and the loaded Head Wrightson Road/Rail Transporter at Onitsha, Nigeria. The barge on which they were travelling was unable to tie-up properly to the ramp making unloading more difficult than usual.
Asea of Sweden built four 100 ton transformer for the Kariba Dam in Zambia. The transformers were transported by rail to Kafue, about 100 miles from Kariba. We see Wynns staff splitting the rail transporter and transferring a transformer to 32-wheel girder trailer No.654 for the onward journey. We then follow the load to Kariba.
In The Sudan we see Wynns Bedfords and Scammells returning from the new sugar refinery being constructed at Rabak. On the return journey to Port Sudan they are carrying 22RB crawler cranes and other plant equipment for Alfred McAlpine.
