Grain harvesting may have been the spearhead through the history of Massey’s harvest machinery developments but, as John recounts here, many, many other lines of harvesting equipment have been produced over Massey’s 160+ years history. As in his 11 previous books on Massey and Ferguson history John has left no stones unturned in his quest for the complete story and identification of the full product range over the years.
Whilst this book does have a focus on combines and their development, he has documented probably exhaustively every other type of harvesting equipment from mowers to loaders, game flushers to kale cutters, balers to sweet corn harvesters and so on. John’s latest contribution to the documentation of Massey history is perhaps unique in the documentation of farm mechanisation in that it summarises all types of harvesting equipment marketed by a single company throughout their history.
The book is lavishly illustrated with over 800 photographs to compliment the text.
